About

Intro to Astro is a resource for high school and university-level astronomy students (and astronomy grad students who should have learned these things but never did). This blog should also be useful for someone who just wants to learn more about astronomy without having to take a formal class.

I will try to explain some of the more tricky concepts taught in introductory astronomy classes, using my wits, illustrations, and video, but not lot of math.

Some other great resources:
* Bad Astronomy Blog – Science news and commentary by the Phil Plait (the Bad Astronomer)
* Wikipedia  – Most of the articles on astronomy are correct, helpful, and written at the appropriate level. I send students here a lot. Just don't cite it in a paper. Also a good place to star when looking for primary sources.
* HyperPhysics – Concepts in physics an astronomy, explained in small segments, and connected with concept maps.
